A multi-layer production cel and background setup from the Disney Studios animated classic "Robin Hood" (1973). Featuring Alan-A-Dale and Friar Tuck surrounded by tents, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both pieces are frames of animation that were photographed and appear in the film. Measuring 16.5"x19.75" matted, with the mat opening measuring 11"x14" and the character image measuring 6.5"x10, the piece is in very good condition with surface wear, rippling, and light wear overall. The piece went through Disney's art program, as is evidenced by the seal in the corner, and both cel layers were laminated by the studio with an intent of preservation, as was their practice at the time.
